To learn more about how businesses can participate in SHARP, check out their site here - SHARP.
SHARP Sites in Region I
Currently there are 50 SHARP sites in Region I. State and Consultation Program
Manager Mary Shannon said that, “The SHARP Luncheons have
been highly successful in promoting SHARP participation in the Region.”
New Sites & Renewals
Since January, there have been several SHARP renewals in Region I. These
include: Cape Resources Co., Kendal at Hanover, Borderview Rehabilitation
and Living Center, ECO/ Pittsfield, ECO/Springfield, Proto-Pac Engineering,
Market Square Health Care Center, Interplex Metals RI Corp., Ryegate
Associates and Penny Publications.
The L. W. Bills Company of Georgetown, Massachusetts, a manufacturer
of municipal, industrial and residential alarm systems since 1925, was the region’s
first new SHARP site in FY2007, becoming a full-fledged member in March 2007.
Dan Dinwiddie, L. W. Bills General Manager, said that his company is
“very safety-minded,” as “half of our staff are either retired or current firefighters,
including chiefs, deputy chiefs and lieutenants.” In order to learn more
about SHARP, Dinwiddie attended last year’s SHARP luncheon in Portsmouth,
New Hampshire.
Dinwiddie also noted that company president, Harold Roeder, is impressed with the high standards SHARP sites have to meet in order to qualify for participation.
According to Dinwiddie, “Being part of SHARP makes our company feel like we are part of the best.
The entire staff is extremely proud of this achievement.”
